Babak Rafati : Iranian-German football referee
A Bundesliga football match has been called off after the referee tried to commit suicide just hours before the game. Babak Rafati had been due to take charge of the top flight clash between Cologne and Mainz on Saturday afternoon, but was found in his apartment on Saturday morning with his wrists slashed.
The official is now in a stable condition in hospital in Cologne, according to police and the German FA.
Police spokesman Andre Fassbender confirmed that Rabati, "sustained injuries with no sign of any involvement by a third party. It looks like a suicide attempt."
* Zaman sekarang ni bukan pemain je stress, wasit pon sama. Mungkin masalah peribadi, tekanan di atas padang, gaji 'ciput' atau kos hidup makin tinggi. Eloklah persatuan bolasepak buat sesi kaunseling atau kursus pengurusan stress untuk mereka. Kalau tidak, makin ramai la nak cabut nyawa sendiri.
